Magnolia Springs

The Commons is located just east of the town limits of Magnolia Springs in Baldwin County, Alabama. Tucked away on the Magnolia River in LA (lower Alabama), Magnolia Springs has its own heart, with stories that date back to its settlement as a Spanish land grant in 1800. In April, The Daily Meal recognized Magnolia Springs as the prettiest town in Alabama in the article “The Prettiest Town in Every State.” Here are just a few reasons, Magnolia Springs is a charming place to call home:

The town of Magnolia Springs incorporated in 2006 and currently has a population just shy of 800. The local government consists of a mayor and a town council made up of five members. The town also has a public library

Magnolia Springs boasts the only remaining river route for mail delivery in the United States. Although homeowners in The Commons pick their mail up at the local post office, it is still nice to wave at the mail man on the river.

Magnolia Springs has an active community association, MSCA, that’s been around for over 125 years. Community potlucks are held the first Saturday of each month from October through May. It is also know for hosting the biggest, littlest Independence Day Parade each July 4th.

The famous Jesse’s Restaurant is located 3/10ths of a mile from The Commons. Although technically a steak house, Jesse’s seafood is fresh from Gulf waters down the road, and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Historic St. Paul’s Episcopal Chapel in Magnolia Springs was built in 1902 in the Carpenter Gothic style from pine on its very land; it is also on the National Register of Historic Places.

There’s only one place to stay if you’re visiting, and that’s the Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast. Built in 1897, the B&B has five rooms, each with its own antique feel, and a great hall with 14 ½ foot ceilings great hall with 14 ½ foot ceilings.
